Islay Community Council Meetings
ICC articulate the views and concerns of Islay’s residents on a wide range of issues of public concern, and making representations to Argyll and Bute Council, Scottish Government and other public sector bodies within or affecting Islay Community Council’s sphere of interest.
Food bank
The Baptist Church, along with other churches on the island, runs a Community Store Cupboard, much like a Foodbank, but tailored to the Island’s unique needs.

The Dunoon Project
The company has been formed to benefit principally the community of Dunoon which comprises the community council areas of South Cowal, Dunoon, Hunters Quay, and Sandbank (the Community)
Ardentinny Community Trust
The Ardentinny Community Trust looks after the social welfare by way of facilities for recreation and other leisure time activity available to the public at large within the village of Ardentinny. There is a village hall, walled garden, a bowling club, a renewables trust and a conservation and heritage group.

Newspaper and communications publication
The ‘lleach’ is the independent newspaper for Islay and Jura. A monthly podcast featuring individuals, personalities and features of Islay and Jura is also produced.
Waterbaby Arts
Waterbaby exists to promote inclusive movement training in the UK by and for people with disabilities. They are continually providing dance work, performances and training opportunities.
Tiree Ranger Service
The Ranger Service involves coordinating the Tiree Access Group, delivering community events, monitoring access for disabled guests, maintaining off-road parking areas, engaging with guests, managing the croft site camping scheme and much more. Contact the Ranger directly for more information.
