About Us

The Third Sector is the hidden backbone of the UK. It comprises of thousands of charities and volunteer organisations that tirelessly serve their local communities. They are best placed to know the needs of the local community, because they ARE the local community.

In order to support these organisations, the Scottish Government initiated the Third Sector Interface. There are 32 TSI’s across the country, each with a clear remit within their area of operation and 4 key objectives, namely;

  • Being a central source of knowledge – 3rd sector, national and local policy.
  • Ensuring the local third sector has a strong voice at a strategic level – locally and nationally.
  • Builds the capacity of volunteering, voluntary and community organisations and social enterprise to achieve positive change.
  • Providing leadership, vision and coordination to the local third sector, including through partnership and collaboration.

One way that Argyll & Bute TSI is meeting these objectives is through the creation of this online community directory. There are so many critical services available within Argyll and Bute that are not widely known about. Through this online directory, our aim is to publicise these organisations and share them with the community.

If you have a service that is not listed in the directory, please use the contact us form below to let us know.

If you would like to become a member of the TSI, then email us at info@argylltsi.org.uk. Membership is free and you will benefit from regular communication about the sector as well as FREE use of our state of the art meeting Hub in Inveraray.
