Scottish Women's Institute - Appin. Port Appin Village Hall, 3rd Thursday of every month, 7.30pm - 9.30pm. The Scottish Women’s Institute is one of Scotland’s leading member based organisations. Created by women in 1917, the institute is designed to bring women together, with a vision to welcome every woman in Scotland and build an inclusive community, where people can have fun and form friendships, campaign, learn, share and socialise. From life skills and arts and crafts to raising awareness of current affairs affecting women and helping inform government issues, the SWI is proud of its heritage and our future vision.
