Seil Community Council have public meetings six times per year. This is where we share information with the community and try to gather people’s views on important local issues. The Seilachan is the local bimonthly newsletter. It contains a report compiled by the Community Council with a summary of what is discussed at public meetings, as well as updates from the Hall committee and other local news; it is hand delivered by local volunteers which is greatly appreciated. Minutes of public meetings are also produced and are available on our this website and on Facebook. If you want to receive copies of minutes and agendas, and be on the general distribution list please contact the secretary seilandeasdaleccsec@btinternet.com. Seil Community Council receive a lot of information from Argyll and Bute Council, members of the community and other organisations, much of which requires attention quite quickly. For this reason, the Community Council also meet on months in between the public meetings. This allows the Seil Community Council to discuss any urgent matters and progress any actions that have been agreed. The Community Council have one further brief meeting two weeks before a public meeting; to agree the agenda, which is legally required to be publicly displayed seven days in advance of the public meeting. We have recently decided to expand our online profile by setting up a Facebook page. The hope is that this will help reach a wider audience within the community and there are many functions which may be useful in the future for seeking people’s views and sharing information. Seil Community Council are happy to receive comments and feedback and just ask that people remember it is a public page, so please be considerate and respectful.
